I'm a Teacher and I'm Not Tired

Good evening,
As Ignite closes and Nourish begins, I wanted to write about a specific exciting thing I have noticed. Here is a brief summary of what I'm about to say. During Ignite, you burn through glucose stores and start burning fat stores for energy. I did not truly believe that I would have "less hunger and more energy". However, ever since I ended the first fast (5 days ago), and even a fews day before that, I would come home and not feel utterly exhausted. I'm noticing it more consistently day after day.
I teach French Immersion Kindergarten. I have two classes, one with 28 kids and one with 26 kids. They're so wonderful and energetic and full of life, which means I do a lot of classroom managing and behavior training on, "how we act at school". Typically, I leave right at contract time, I come home, and need some space. I'm exhausted, my feet are killing me, and the LAST thing I want to think about is anything involving effort (...exercise).
Lately, I come home and my attitude is just, "What's next?" It's like there is a second person available for the evening - sometimes that's a hike, sometimes that's shopping without a negative attitude, sometimes it's a simple walk - but I'm mentally present.
Not only is this change great for me as a teacher in general, but the fact that it's May and we are doing state testing and school testing and I'm counting down the days...every teacher knows, it's incredible to be able to say, "I'm not exhausted." It's about this time of year we start seeing things like this:
Teachers be like....
Don't get me wrong, I'm generally tired and generally VERY ready for summer break and low on the patience tank. I'm talking about the day-to-day, walk through the door, drop the bags exhausted. It's gone!
I hope this continues throughout Nourish and the rest of the program, because I really enjoy how I am feeling! The only thing I have changed are my eating habits. I hesitate to use the word "diet", because like Chalene teaches - that word is negatively charged. When I say, "diet" I mean literally my regimen of food.
It feels good to feel good. If you're curious about 131 and if you're so over trendy diets, use my link to check it out, and if you sign up through me I get a little bonus! Here it is!
XOXO
